With expert guidance, students have the chance to work in our cutting-edge studios, producing their own news reports or movie trailers. Who is it for?
Sky Up Academy Studios is designed for students aged 8-18, providing an engaging and inclusive experience for learners of all abilities. Our unique, hands-on experiences align with the curriculum, helping teachers to extend learning beyond the classroom and build on students’ new skills in future lessons.
In Osterley, we offer two exciting, curriculum-aligned experiences designed to engage students in different ways: Fact and Fiction.
Both experiences allow students to take on real-world roles, collaborate, and develop new skills.
Fact
Students become journalists, creating their own news report on one of four curriculum-linked topics. This experience fits seamlessly into classroom learning, helping students deepen their understanding of subjects while developing media literacy and storytelling skills.
Fiction
A more creative option, students work together to produce a movie trailer, bringing imaginative storytelling to life. It’s the perfect way to inspire creativity and introduce students to roles in the media and film industry.
During the 2.5 hour session, students take on real-life roles—such as presenters, producers, editors, and camera operators—mirroring the actual jobs we have at Sky. Working closely with our expert team, they’ll create their own news reports or movie trailer, developing their skills while gaining insight into the creative industry.
As part of their visit, students will also enjoy a guided tour of our studios in Osterley, offering a exclusive look at how tv is made in our production and post production areas. This immersive experience allows students behind the scenes to observes the role that they’ve played on the day in front of their eyes.
We work closely with educational specialists to ensure that the experience is meaningful and impactful for every student.
